Christy’s been there, camera in hand, since the very beginning, and honestly, I wouldn’t trust anyone else to capture our most important moments. Not just because she’s my aunt, but because there’s something so real, vulnerable, and pure in the way she sees us. Every time I get photos back from her, I’m reminded of why I keep turning to her… because there’s something there that’s so much more than just a picture.
Christy doesn’t just get the picture-perfect shots (though there are plenty of those), she finds the messy, vulnerable, in-between moments. The ones that make us who we really are. From my engagement, to welcoming our first baby, to my master’s graduation, to updated family photos year after year, Christy’s been there for all the chapters of our lives — quietly preserving the feeling, the magic, the love.
The thing I love most about Christy is how much her heart is in her work. She cheers us on, makes us laugh, eases our nervousness, and lets us be ourselves in front of the camera. Because of that, when I look back at my photos, I’m not just seeing what we look like — I’m feeling what we felt in those moments. It honestly feels like we get to keep a piece of that feeling forever.
